Acer, one of the information and communication technology (ICT) industries in Indonesia in providing computing devices, supports government programs through the presence of four laptops, all of which have been certified at the domestic component level (TKDN).

“Acer supports TKDN regulations that implemented by the government. Four TKDN certified products’ presence from this Chromebook line also makes Acer is the only international brand in the Indonesian market, which has computing products with TKDN certification,” said Herbet Ang, President Director of Acer Indonesia, Tuesday (July 27, 2021).

Electronic computer equipment such as laptops is required to have local content in the assembly process, especially for use within the ministries/agencies’ scope or regional devices financed by the State Budget/Regional Revenues and Expenditures Budget.

Herbet said Acer believes that by including local content in product assembly, Acer indirectly helps build the nation through the resources’ use in Indonesia and encourages industrial and economic progress (as a whole).

The four products are Acer Chromebook 311 C733T, Acer Chromebook 311 C733, Acer Chromebook Spin 511 R752T, and Acer Chromebook 311 CB311-9 HT. Four domestically produced Chromebooks are the first series of Acer devices that have met the TKDN certification with superior features and strong performance to support education in Indonesia. This step is also a form of Acer’s participation in the #BanggaBuatanIndonesia program of independent learning.

“Acer wants to continue to be a provider of international quality laptop products that can provide more value to the local markets and help the Indonesian education world carrying out teaching and learning activities through reliable features and performance,” said Herbet Ang.
