Bali Plan Begins Opening For Foreign Tourists

The Provincial Government of Bali plans to welcome foreign tourists on September 11, 2020. However, this still needs to be reviewed based on several considerations. So, what are the considerations for Bali to accept foreign tourists?

1. Decree of the central government

Head of the Bali Provincial Tourism Office, Putu Astawa, said one of the considerations was the revision or revocation of Regulation of the Ministry of Law and Human Rights Number 11 of 2020 concerning the Temporary Prohibition of Foreigners from Entering the Territory of the Republic of Indonesia. “Determined by the central policy. If it has not been opened, at the state level, Bali must look at the central policy, “said Putu.

2. Other country restriction policies

Meanwhile, other considerations that will be examined are which countries have or will open national borders. “If other countries shut down their citizens from traveling, the policies are also useless. There is also no flight. Surely the central policy took that into account. We have to make adjustments, “said Putu.

The main requirement for foreign tourists so that they can vacation in Bali are those who come from countries that are completely safe from Covid-19.

3. Handling Covid-19 in Bali

Then, Bali’s readiness to welcome foreign tourists back.

“The handling of Covid-19 (in Bali) in terms of the percentage of deaths is low compared to WHO standards, while the cure rate is high,” said Putu. These considerations, said Putu, are important in restoring the Bali tourism industry. This is because the economy and public health need attention. The reopening of tourism for foreign tourists will be carried out selectively. Putu also explained that all decisions on whether Bali will still accept tourists in September, one of which is in the hands of the Governor of Bali, Wayan Koster.
