The Indonesian government continues to promote vaccination programs to suppress the Covid-19’s spread. Moderna is one type of vaccine used by the government to meet vaccination needs.

Previously, the Moderna vaccine was used as a booster for health workers, now it has begun to be distributed to the general public. It is known that this type of vaccine has been allocated by the Ministry of Health as many as 5,102,300 doses and distributed to 34 provinces.

Siti Nadia Tarmizi, Spokesperson for Covid-19 Vaccination at the Ministry of Health, revealed that the Moderna vaccine may only be used by the general public over the age of 18. 

Moderna vaccine injections for the general public are also only for dose one and dose two. Meanwhile, for health workers, this vaccine is continued for the third dose. 

Penny Lukito, Head of the Food and Drug Supervisory Agency (BPOM) also said that the Moderna vaccine could not be injected into children. 

As additional information, the use of the Moderna vaccine is given by injection twice within a period of one month.
