1.2 Million Vehicles Are Leaving Jakarta

Welcoming Eid al-Fitr, many people in Jakarta choose to return to their hometowns. PT Jasa Marga (Persero) Tbk recorded that 1,157,959 vehicles left the Jakarta, Bogor, Tangerang, Bekasi (Jabotabek) areas on D-10 to D-4 Eid Al-Fitr 1443 H/2022.

The number of vehicles is the cumulative number of traffic (traffic) from the four Barrier/Main Toll Gates (GT), namely GT Cikupa (direction Merak), GT Ciawi (direction Puncak), and GT Cikampek Utama and GT Kalihurip Utama (direction Trans Java). and Bandung).

“The total volume of traffic leaving the Jabotabek area rose 14.1 percent compared to normal traffic for the November 2021 period with a total of 1,015,248 vehicles,” said PT Jasa Marga (Persero) Tbk Corporate Communication & Community Development Group Head Dwimawan Heru in a statement, Friday. (29/4/2022).

For the distribution of traffic leaving Jabotabek heading in three directions, namely the majority of 587,392 vehicles (50.7%) heading east (Trans Java and Bandung), 341,891 vehicles (29.5%) heading west (Merak), and 228,676 vehicles. (19.7%) towards the South (Peak). The details of traffic distribution are as follows:

East direction (Trans Java and Bandung)

  • Traffic leaving Jabotabek heading towards Trans Java via GT Cikampek Utama Jakarta-Cikampek Toll Road, with a total of 372,048 vehicles, an increase of 62.2% from normal traffic.
  • Traffic leaving Jabotabek heading towards Bandung via GT Kalihurip Utama Cipularang Toll Road, with a total of 215,344 vehicles, decreased by 1.9% from normal traffic.

The total traffic leaving Jabotabek heading towards Trans Java and Bandung via the two GTs is 587,392 vehicles, an increase of 30.8% from normal traffic.

West direction (Peacock)
traffic leaving Jabotabek towards Merak via GT Cikupa Tangerang-Merak Toll Road was 341,891 vehicles, an increase of 2.73% from normal traffic.

South Direction (Peak)
Meanwhile, the number of vehicles leaving Jabotabek towards Puncak via GT Ciawi Jagorawi Toll Road was 228,676 vehicles, down by 2.0% from normal traffic.

Heru explained that Jasa Marga recorded 84,234 vehicles at GT Cikampek Utama, an increase of 149.8% on D-4, Thursday (28/04), when compared to normal traffic in November 2021 period.

“Jasa Marga appeals to toll road users to anticipate travel before entering the toll road. Make sure the vehicle and driver are in top condition, comply with health protocols (using masks, washing hands, and maintaining distance) when in rest areas, refilling fuel and electronic money balances enough, and obey the signs and directions of officers,” he said.
