PT Angkasa Pura I (Persero) or AP I reports that there has been a fairly high increase in airplane passengers over the last two months. This is concluded based on their records at 15 airports managed by PT Angkasa Pura I.

They believe that the prospects for growth in passenger movements, both domestic and international, are getting better with the increasing number of policy relaxations issued by the government.

This was conveyed by the President Director of AP I Faik Fahmi who said that the relaxation of regulations such as the opening of regular international flights in Bali helped encourage the growth of airplane passengers.

Moreover, the new policy regarding domestic travel requirements eliminates PCR and Antigen tests for passengers who have had a complete dose of vaccine and PCR also affects this increase.

“In the future, we are more optimistic about the prospects for the growth of passenger and flight movements. With the return of regular flights to international routes in Bali, as well as the issuance of the SE Ministry of Transportation Number 21 of 2022, we believe this will be able to have a very positive impact on increasing traffic passengers in general, and in particular at the 15 airports that we manage,” he said in an official statement, Thursday (10/3/2022).

During the two months running in 2022, AP I noted that it had served more than 6 million passengers. If a comparison is made with the same period last year, where there were 3,837,358 passengers served at 15 airports managed by Angkasa Pura I, there is a 59 percent growth in the number of served passengers.

An increase also occurred in the number of aircraft movements. With a record of 67,173 aircraft movements served in the January-February 2022 period, when compared to the figure in the same period in 2021, where 62,040 aircraft movements were served, there was a growth of 8.3 percent.

Furthermore, statistics on cargo traffic at the 15 airports under management also experienced growth. It recorded 74.2 million kg of cargo in 2022 compared to 70 million kg of cargo in 2021 or grew by 4.8 percent.

Especially for the record for 28 days in February 2022, Angkasa Pura I has served as many as 2,591,586 passengers, 30,637 aircraft movements, and 34,855,255 kg of cargo at 15 airports managed. Meanwhile, in February 2021, there were 1,717,379 passengers, 28,332 aircraft movements, and 2.09 million kg of cargo.

In detail, there is a growth of 51 percent for passenger movements, 8.1 percent for aircraft movements, and 5.4 percent for cargo movements.

Based on records, air transport traffic statistics at 15 airports managed by AP I recorded a positive record compared to 2021 performance. This shows the return of public confidence in traveling by air transportation.

It was recorded that during February 2022, 15 airports managed by Angkasa Pura I served an average daily passenger of 92,557 passengers per day, 1,094 aircraft movements per day, and 1.2 million kg of cargo movements per day.
