Along with increasing tourist mobility, the Provincial Government of Bali is intensifying vaccinations again. A total of 5,000 doses of the Covid-19 vaccine are prepared for booster vaccinations for tourism workers.

Deputy Governor of Bali Tjokorda Oka Artha Ardhana Sukawati, Saturday (28/1), explained that this vaccination program was in line with the opening of Indonesia, especially through Bali. Moreover, the abundant stock of vaccines also contributed to the background of the program. It is known, the type of vaccine that will be used is the Pfizer vaccine.

He, when reviewing the implementation of the initial booster vaccination for tourism actors in Bali, said that tourism actors were the group that received priority. This is because tourism actors are in direct contact with foreign tourists.

Furthermore, Bali has been increasingly open to foreign countries, while some countries do not require citizens to be vaccinated against Covid-19. Responding to this, Bali made some approaches.

“The first approach taken is to ensure foreign tourists who come are free from exposure to Covid-19. The method is by detecting body temperature at the airport,” said Tjokorda Oka Artha Ardhana Sukawati.

The second approach, he continued, is to ensure that the immunity of workers in the tourism sector is properly maintained to avoid exposure to Covid-19.

“We make sure workers in the tourism sector stay healthy and fine because they are at the forefront. The way to do this is by administering the second phase of the booster vaccine,” he said.

Meanwhile, the implementation of the second booster vaccination, which was carried out this time which was centered at the Wiswa Sabha Building, Bali Governor’s Office, was given to 500 tourism actors. Secretary of PHRI Bali Perry Markus said, after the implementation of the booster vaccine today (28/1), it will be continued with the implementation of vaccination per cluster to make it closer.

Likewise, the CHSE protocol, namely Cleanliness, Health, Safety, and Environment Sustainability, is still being implemented. Thus, tourists get guaranteed safety from exposure to Covid-19.

Similar to the strategy applied to the first, second, and booster phases of vaccination, the health office will open posts in banjars or public places. In addition to opening posts in banjars, the Bali Health Service is also targeting the Civil Servants of the Bali Provincial Government, numbering 17 thousand people. The second booster vaccination for ASN Pemprov Bali is scheduled to start on January 30.
