The government has further divided the mandatory PCR swab test policy to Bali. At least, there are six groups or passengers who don’t need to carry the PCR swab test or just need a rapid test.
This rule is stated in the Decree of the Governor of Bali No.2021/2020. Citing the upload of AP I, Friday (18/12/2020), there are three main points in the regulation.
First, the PCR swab test policy will take place from 19 December 2020 to 4 January 2021. Second, the negative result of the PCR-based swab test is no later than 7×24 hours before departure.
Then, third, there are six groups that do not need a PCR swab test letter. They are:
1. Children aged 12 years and under do not need to bring the results of the PCR swab, rapid antigen or rapid antibody test results.
2. Active crew / EOB / FOO simply use rapid antibody test result.
3. Transit passengers.
4. Passengers whose planes are diverted to Denpasar Airport.
5. Passengers who come from areas that do not have a PCR-based swab test facility (however these passengers will be subjected to a rapid antigen test upon arrival in Bali)
6. Government employees, Indonesian National Armed Forced, police who received sudden orders.
Previously, Bali authority’s decision to suddenly announce a number of conditions for tourists from outside Bali received criticism. Deputy Chairman of the Association of Indonesian Aviation Ticket Selling Companies (ASTINDO) Anton Sumarli said the domino effect had been felt.
A number of conditions imposed by Bali for travelers, including tourists must show the results of rapid antigen by land route. As for tourists from the airport, they must show the PCR results. The rules will take effect from 18 December 2020.
In addition, Bali imposed a ban on New Year’s Eve celebrations.
After the regional regulation was announced, there was a wave of rescheduling to cancellation. Anton said that the impact will be felt directly on travel agents, restaurants, and tour guides.
