To date, 609 slots have been filled and there are still around 1,983 flight slots available to be maximized by airlines who wish to apply for extra flights.

“During the period of the 17-22 March 2022 event, Lombok International Airport is expected to serve up to 18,800 passengers per day, a 5-fold increase compared to the daily average during the pandemic which was only 3,500 passengers per day,” he said in an official statement, Monday. (14/3/2022).

In addition, Angkasa Pura I has prepared 260 personnel per shift consisting of internal employees such as Aviation Security, Terminal Service Officers, Customer Service, Facility Care, and external parties such as Immigration Officers, Ground Handling, Customs and Excise, KKP, MGPA Committee, and Task Force. Covid-19. This is done to support the smooth handling of the arrival of all racers, crew, Official Team, and all spectators.

AP I together with all relevant stakeholders are committed to jointly ensuring smooth operations and anticipating potential risks that can affect the continuity of the 2022 MotoGP event which is the airport operator’s area, such as the possibility of overcapacity, even bad weather that causes aircraft to not land and others.

In addition, aircraft parking will also be repositioned in the event of overcapacity in the aircraft parking configuration on the apron of Lombok International Airport. The apron capacity available at Lombok International Airport can accommodate up to 24 aircraft with a configuration of 10 narrow-body aircraft and 6 wide-body aircraft.

The mitigation concept is a “One Day Trip” in the Triangle Area of ​​Lombok International Airport – I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport – Bali Juanda Airport which includes various mitigation efforts such as Seamless operating hours which operate 24 hours at the time of the event.

Furthermore, if Lombok International Airport does not operate due to bad weather or things that have the potential to block the runway, Bali’s I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport & Surabaya’s Juanda Airport will function as alternate aerodromes.

AP I will coordinate with airlines if it is necessary to increase the number of aircraft, fleet management, aircraft rotation, and readiness of ground handling operators serving the triangle routes.

Furthermore, AP I together with the Ministry of Transportation also provides free shuttle bus facilities at Lombok International Airport. A total of 31 buses with a total capacity of 925 seats are prepared to support the mobility of service users who want to watch the 2022 MotoGP at Mandalika.
