Passengers at Soetta Airport are Predicted to Increase in the Next 3 Months

Head of the Soekarno Hatta Class I Airport Authority (Otban) Office, Capt Yufridon Gandoz Situmean, said, “Currently, in the next three months we predict an increase in passengers, from international and domestic flights,” said Gandoz quoted Monday (2/10). /2022).

He noted an increase in passengers of almost 85 percent when the Covid-19 pandemic began to slow down as it is now.

“An increase of almost 85 percent, compared to when we had a pandemic yesterday (two years ago), before that 30 percent (when cases of the Covid-19 pandemic were high) now increased to 85-90 percent,” he said.

According to Gandoz, the increase in airplane passengers, which almost tripled from before, did not only occur for domestic travel but also for foreign travel. The increase is said to have occurred since the Lebaran holiday or Eid al-Fitr 1443 Hijriyah.

“In Lebaran yesterday, we also carried out a campaign, it was extraordinary the increase was almost 151,000 (people), yes, in July it was an extraordinary increase,” he said.

With the increase in the number of passengers, the Soekarno Hatta Airport Authority hopes that there will be additional fleets from all existing airlines.

With the addition of airlines, it is targeted to help improve the economy of the air transportation sector for the better in the future.

Along with predictions and records of increasing the number of airplane passengers in the future, the Soekarno-Hatta Airport Authority will continue to carry out campaigns on the safety of air transport passengers.

The number of airplane passengers continues to show an increase. As of August 2022, PT Angkasa Pura I (Persero) or AP I recorded the number of passengers at 15 airports had jumped by 334 percent

AP I President Director Faik Fahmi explained that the number of passengers reached 4.54 million as of August 2022. This number increased from the position in August 2021 which was only 1.04 million.

Not only that, but the number of aircraft movements at 15 airports managed by AP I also increased from 21,370 to 39,895 as of August 2022.

In total, the number of aircraft passengers at 15 airports managed by AP I reached 32.48 million from January 2022 to August 2022. The number increased from the same period last year, which was 16.64 million passengers.
