B20 Facilitates Cooperation of US$ 2.9 Billion with the UAE

In the series of B20 Summit Indonesia, the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin) bridges Indonesian companies with the United Arab Emirates (UAE). The value of the cooperation is said to be estimated at US$ 2.9 billion.

Reportedly, the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry facilitated the signing of 7 MoUs and 17 Business-to-Business MoUs with the UAE.

In a written statement, Wednesday (23/11/2022), the Chairman of the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Arsjad Rasjid, said, “Out of a total of 24 MoUs, there are 13 MoUs that are aligned with the priority sectors of the G20 presidency. In detail, there are 4 MoUs in the health sector, 2 MoU in the digital transformation sector, and 7 MoU in the energy transition sector.”

He hopes that the MoU will add value to trade between the two countries, and also have a positive impact on sustainable prosperity for both Indonesia and the United Arab Emirates.

In addition, other MoUs were also signed in 5 other sectors, namely in the infrastructure, environment, and climate change sectors, customs in agriculture and food security, as well as in the fields of defense and the aviation industry.
The signing of the MoU involved 22 companies/institutions from the United Arab Emirates and 23 from Indonesia.

For information, trade between Indonesia and the United Arab Emirates continues to increase. In 2021, total trade will reach US$ 4 billion, an increase of 21% compared to 2018 which amounted to US$ 3.3 billion. Meanwhile, trade for the January-September period this year also increased by 32% when compared to the same period last year.
