Bali Government Will Restrict Community Activities During G20 Summit

For safe and controlled activities, the Bali Provincial Government will restrict community activities during the peak event of the G20 Indonesia, 15-16 November 2022.

The regulation is contained in Circular Letter Number 35425/SEKRET/2022 concerning the implementation of restrictions on community activities in the context of organizing the G20 Presidency.

“Regarding the holding of a series of G20 Presidency meetings and a summit of G20 state leaders on 15-16 November 2922 in Bali, it is deemed necessary to impose restrictions on community activities,” reads a circular signed by the Governor of Bali, Wayan Koster on October 25, 2022.

Restrictions on community activities in the sub-districts of Kuta and South Kuta, Badung Regency, and South Denpasar will be implemented on 12-17 November 2022. The activities include education, government, and private offices, traditional ceremony activities, and religious activities, except for health facilities.

In the circular, it was written that the implementation of learning in the area was carried out online for all levels of education (SD, SMP, SMA/SMK, and tertiary institutions). “Office activities are carried out from home (work from home), on November 12-17, 2022,” the letter said.

Enforcement of restrictions on community activities on all routes leading to the G20 Presidency venue. Such as the route to the Apurva Kempinski Hotel, Badung Regency (12-17 November); to the route to ITDC Nusa Dua, Badung Regency (12-17 November); to the Bali Mandara Toll Road, Badung Regency and Denpasar City (12-17 November).

In addition to the route to GWK, Badung Regency (15 November); and to the route to the Mangrove Seeding in Tahura Area, Badung Regency, and Denpasar City (15-16 November).

“The regents of Badung, Gianyar, Tabanan, and the mayor of Denpasar should carry out surveillance in the field to ensure that restrictions on community activities are carried out properly,” he said.

Furthermore, the Ministry of Transportation (Kemenhub) regulates traffic during the G20 Summit in Bali with an odd-even system implementation scheme and restrictions on goods transportation operations.
