Extreme weather for southern part of Java

The Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) has appealed to residents in the southern part of Central Java and the central mountains of Central Java to be aware of the potential for extreme weather.

Considering that extreme weather will still hit the area, BMKG also appealed to people on the southern coast of West Java, Central Java and Yogyakarta to be aware of high waves in the southern seas of West Java-DIY.

This was conveyed by Teguh Wardoyo, Head of the BMKG Meteorological Station Tunggul Wulung Cilacap Station in Cilacap, Central Java, Friday, February 26, 2021.

He also said that in the Yogyakarta region, it would rain with light to heavy intensity today. Regarding this prediction, he said the high wave early warning was issued because of the high waves in the southern waters of Sukabumi, southern waters of Cianjur, and southern waters of Garut.

Then in the southern waters of Tasikmalaya, the southern waters of Pangandaran, the southern Indian Ocean of Cilacap, the southern Indian Ocean of Kebumen, the Indian Ocean south of Purworejo, and the southern Indian Ocean of Yogyakarta have the potential to reach the range of 2.5-4 meters or enter the high category.

Meanwhile, wave heights in the southern Indian Ocean, southern Indian Ocean, Sukabumi, the southern Indian Ocean of Cianjur, the southern Indian Ocean of Garut, the southern Indian Ocean of Tasikmalaya, and the southern Indian Ocean of Pangandaran have the potential to reach a range of 4-6 meters or fall into the very high category.
