Flash floods due to the overflow of the Biluk Poh River hit four sub-districts in Jembrana Regency.
Head of BPBD Bali Made Rentin said six districts experienced natural disasters due to heavy rains hitting Bali. Namely, the Regencies of Karangasem, Jembrana, Tabanan, Bangli, Gianyar, and Badung.
This natural disaster was in the form of landslides that hit people’s homes and schools and flash floods that caused some bridges to break and trees to fall.
“There have been disasters in 6 districts with a total of 230 points. Which resulted in 6 deaths and losses ranging from Rp. 6,613,000,000,” said Rentin in his statement via the Instagram account @bpbdbali, Thursday (20/10).
It was recorded that as many as 250 people or 25 families of residents survived in the refugee camps, namely in Filtering Village to the east of the bridge and Tegalcangkring Village, west of the bridge. The rest fled to the homes of relatives or relatives.
The worst flood disaster occurred in Jembrana, causing the Denpasar-Gilimanuk route to be paralyzed. In addition, the natural disaster that struck also caused 6 fatalities.
The number of victims of the disaster in Bali, 3 people died in Karangasem, 1 person died in Tabanan, 1 person died in Bangli, and 1 died in Jembrana.
The Bali Provincial Government (Pemprov) will disburse Rp. 30 billion from Unexpected Expenditures (BTT).
As of Thursday (20/10/2022), the Bali Provincial BPBD is still carrying out the latest updates regarding the losses and impacts of natural disasters. The latest data related to real-time natural disasters will be updated again.
Furthermore, BPBD Bali recorded the value of losses in this natural disaster reached Rp 6,613,000,000 as of Wednesday (19/10) yesterday.
Furthermore, the Bali Provincial Government has budgeted around Rp. 30 billion to help affected communities. Ms. PKK Bali has distributed 2,165 tons of rice to all victims of flash floods in Mendoyo District, Jembrana.
“We will solve it at the same time that the settlement is in the short term if there are residents who are affected, they must be rescued first, those who fled in Jembrana are guaranteed a supply of food and clean water,” said Koster through the Bali Provincial Government Public Relations.
In the long term, the Bali Provincial Government plans to relocate the houses of residents affected by the flood. Koster prepared about 26 acres of land owned by the Bali Provincial Government for the construction of houses for residents.
“I have allocated 20 acres, plus 6 acres of provincial land for the new residents to live in and live on the premises,” he said.
