Innovation in air transportation services called helicity or air taxis with the Cilegon-Jakarta or Cengkareng (Soekarno-Hatta Airport) routes will soon be present in Cilegon, Banten.
The provider of this helicity service is PT Krakatau Sarana Properti (KSP) in collaboration with White Sky Aviation (WSA), an air transportation company.
“KSP will provide a heliport and we will cooperate with White Sky Aviation (WSA) to provide helicity air taxi transportation,” said KSP President Director, Ridi Djajakusuma in a written statement, quoted Monday, February 28, 2022.
Ridi said the provision of helicity air taxi transportation was especially to meet consumer needs according to the rapidly growing industrial development in Cilegon City.
According to him, as the manager of an industrial area with 50% foreign capital and 50% local, it is necessary to have adequate and tactical air transportation.
He added, “It is imperative as a solution to facilitate the activities of CEOs and other high-ranking companies with their very busy schedules in many places,” he added.
Ridi said the air taxi used Bell 429 made in the United States (US) and had been tested from Cilegon to Soetta Airport.
He explained that in addition to being provided specifically for KSP tenants from Japan and Korea, local parties also provided input to KSP to provide air transportation in the Cilegon City Industrial Estate area to facilitate their mobility to Jakarta, especially for destinations to Soetta Airport.
Ridi believes that the existence of the air taxi facility will make Cilegon increasingly known as an industrial and business city as well as an increasingly advanced and growing investment destination. “Investors will be even more convinced to invest here,” he said.
On the other hand, WSA welcomes cooperation with KSP in providing helicity air taxi transportation. WSA said it was ready to provide these services. The plan is that WSA will provide air taxi services with two types of helicity, the Bell 505 single-engine capacity of three passengers and the Bell 429 double engine capacity of six passengers.
Furthermore, regarding the tariffs installed, this air taxi will cost around Rp. 6-7 million for three passengers.
