G20 Produces Many Cooperation Projects

Jokowi Officially Closed Indonesia's G20 Long Event

The G20 Indonesia event ended by producing the Leaders’ Declaration. In addition, the G20 has also produced many cooperation projects between member countries.

The G20 Indonesia presidency has produced concrete deliverables which contain a list of cooperation projects for G20 member countries and invitations. According to President Joko Widodo, the cooperation project will help bring the work of the G20 closer to the people.

“I also want to express my highest appreciation to all working groups and engagement groups for their dedication, the contribution of ideas, and contributions to the Indonesian G20 Presidency,” added President Joko Widodo.

At the same time, the Coordinating Minister for the Economy Airlangga Hartarto said that related to the energy transition, the United States Government has also launched the Partnership for Global Infrastructure and Investment (PGII), one of which is to help carry out the energy transition.

Furthermore, PGII is also committed to investing a total of USD 600 billion in loans and grants for sustainable infrastructure projects for developing countries.

“In it, there is something initiated by Japan, namely the Just Energy Transition Partnership (JETP). We have also committed USD 20 billion. Of course, this will accelerate decarbonization in Indonesia,” said Coordinating Minister Airlangga.

The Coordinating Minister for Airlangga on this occasion also said that Indonesia appreciates digitalization because it is in line with the focus that is being carried out by Indonesia on digital transformation.

The Coordinating Minister for Airlangga emphasized that digitalization is also in line with Indonesia’s leadership in ASEAN in 2023 and it is targeted that detailed economic frameworks will be prepared in ASEAN.

Airlangga then added that in the annex to the G20 Action for Strong and Inclusive Recovery there is basket 1 which is a trilateral basket where there are 115 projects in the health sector, 34 in the digital transformation sector, 33 in the energy transition sector, and 111 in other potentials.

“Carbon capture and storage is also included in the basket,” concluded the Coordinating Minister for Airlangga.
