Irfan Setiaputra, President Director of Garuda Indonesia revealed that Garuda was the first airline in Indonesia to test the International Air Transport Association (IATA) application.
It is intended for the application of health credential document authentication for international travel requirements. As additional information, the application allows service users to have a digital passport to manage the required travel documents.
It is known that the trial will be held from August 30 to September 13, 2021.
According to Irfan, the trial of the digital application will not only provide convenience to passengers but also for destination countries regarding the validity of health credential documents according to the requirements proposed by local authorities.
“We believe the IATA Travel Pass trial will be an accelerator for our efforts to integrate travel document management, including health certificates, digitally into the application we already have, namely FlyGaruda,” said Irfan via cnbcindonesia.
The IATA application can be downloaded easily across all mobile devices. Users are only asked to create an account and then fill in their identity digitally by attaching a photo and passport.
Data security is guaranteed because users have full control over their personal information. Various data and information listed are in the local data storage on each user’s mobile phone.
