Government Accelerates Indonesia’s Longest Toll Road Construction

The government continues to strive its mega construction projects. Recently, the government continues to accelerate the construction of the longest toll road in Indonesia. Later, the toll road with the Gedebage (Bandung) – Tasikmalaya – Cilacap (Getaci) toll road has a length of 206.65 kilometers.

The toll road is planned to be built in 2022 and is targeted to be completed in 2024. For now, the progress of the toll road construction is still in the land acquisition stage.

According to the government’s plan, the route from Gedebage to Tasikmalaya or section 1 Gedebage – SS North Garut and section 2 North Garut – SS Tasikmalaya is expected to be completed by 2024.

Meanwhile, the continuation section from Tasikmalaya to Cilacap or section 3 SS Tasikmalaya – SS Patimuan and section 4 SS Patimuan – SS Cilacap, is targeted for completion in 2029.

The consortium led by PT Jasa Marga (Persero) Tbk was the winner of the tender and became a Toll Road Business Entity (BUJT) for this toll. Later, the company will install a 40-year concession for the toll road with an investment value of Rp 56.2 trillion.

It is known, based on the results of the auction announcement Number 37.1/BPJT/L/GBTC/2021, that the initial toll tariff for class I in 2024 is set at Rp 2,025 per kilometer.

This means, if calculated roughly, the toll tariff that must be paid from the Gedebage toll gate to the Cilacap toll road and vice versa reaches Rp 418,466 for one way.

Furthermore, Jasa Marga is in partnership with PT Daya Mulia Turangga – Gama Group – PT Jasa Sarana, PT Waskita Karya (Persero) Tbk, PT PP (Persero), and PT Wijaya Karya (Persero).

President Director of PT Jasamarga Gedebage Cilacap, Jo Mancelly said that in the future, PT JGC as the manager of the Gedebage-Tasikmalaya-Cilacap Toll Road will continue to coordinate with related parties to accelerate the implementation of the construction of the Gedebage-Tasikmalaya-Cilacap Toll Road.

“This includes land acquisition following the predetermined time target so that the construction for Phase 1 development can be carried out at the end of 2022,” Jo said in a statement.

For information, this toll road will later cross two provinces at once, namely West Java Province along 169.09 km and Central Java Province along 37.56 km.

Starting from the starting point of Gedebage Junction in Bandung Regency, West Java, then passing through Majalaya, Garut, Tasikmalaya, Ciamis, Banjar and Pangandaran, to the Cilacap area, Central Java
