In order to welcome the G20 Bali Summit next November, the government continues to beautify the Bali-Mandara Toll Road. According to PT Jasa Marga (Persero) Tbk. through its subsidiary which manages the Bali Mandara Toll Road, PT Jasamarga Bali Tol (JBT), the progress of structuring the Bali-Mandara Toll Road has reached 90 percent.
The President Director of PT JBT, I Ketut Adiputra Karang, stated that with the ongoing progress, PT JBT is optimistic that the work process can be completed on time, approximately in the second week of July 2022.
This completion includes several additional works, including tidying up three toll gates (Nusa Dua, Benoa, and Ngurah Rai) to installing ornaments on Public Street Lighting Poles (PJU) on toll roads.
“Although currently, the construction work of the toll gate with the Balinese angkul-angkul design is underway, we still ensure the safety and comfort of road users in transacting at the toll gate. In addition, the finalization of the installation of 549 units of PJU pole ornaments is currently underway,” Adi said in an official statement, Thursday (30/6/2022).
Furthermore, Ketut said that construction work is currently underway for the installation of Solar Power Plants (PLTS) at three toll gates, which is a green energy program collaboration with PT Bukit Energi Investama.
Adi added, that not only PLTS, but other green environment programs were also carried out on the Bali Mandara Toll Road to welcome the G20 Presidency, including tree planting and gardening at toll gate access, median and taper toll roads to planting more than 756,000 mangrove seedlings at the Interchange. Ngurah Rai and Km 3+600.
“We have finished planting a total of 756,800 mangrove seedlings on the Bali Mandara Toll Road, precisely at the Ngurah Rai Interchange and at Km 3+600. This number includes the planting of mangrove seedlings that make up the G20 writing of 158×54 meters with a total of 300,000 seeds,” he said.
Furthermore, Adi explained, there are still obstacles to several jobs, including the erratic weather and strong winds which are predicted to last until July 2022, according to the BMKG.
“It is a challenge for us to do the job and the maintenance is much better. Currently, all plants in the toll road area are watered twice a day and fertilized every two weeks. This includes anticipating the toll gate tidying work schedule, which will also be affected by rain and strong winds,” he said.
