A total of 16 new toll roads spread across several parts of Indonesia will be inaugurated in 2022. This was conveyed by the Toll Road Regulatory Agency (BPJT) of the Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR), they revealed plans to complete the construction of toll roads with a length of up to 332 Km.
As of June 2022, the total operation of toll roads in Indonesia has reached 2,500 km.
The plan regarding the inauguration of 16 new toll roads was conveyed by the Head of BPJT PUPR Danang Parikesit in a press statement in Jakarta, Tuesday (7/6/2022).
“By being divided into 66 toll roads and 46 toll road business entities (BUJT) in Java, Bali, Sumatra, Kalimantan and Sulawesi islands,” said Danang.
The total segment is the accumulation of toll roads that were completed and operated in the 1978-2014 period of 789 km, the 2015-2019 period of 1,298 km, in 2020 of 246 km, in 2021 of 122 km, and from 2022 to 31 May it reached 42. 98 km.
According to Danang, the realization of toll roads operating from 2021 to the end of 2022 is 164.98 km long with a percentage increase of 18.59%. It is targeted that by the end of 2022 the operating toll road will reach 2,955 km.
“So that in 2024, the total length of operational toll roads will reach 4,761 km,” said Danang.
The 16 new toll roads that will be inaugurated in 2022 are as follows:
