Pertamina Oil Fuel Prices Rise Again

Previously, Pertamina raised the prices of fuel oil (BBM) on July 10. This time the prices rise again. PT Pertamina (Persero) on Wednesday, August 3, 2022, officially raised the prices of three types of non-subsidized fuel oil (BBM). The three fuels are Pertamax Turbo, Dexlite, and Pertamina Dex.

This news is attached to the announcement on Pertamina’s website. it was stated that Pertamina made this general fuel price adjustment to implement the Ministerial Decree (Kepmen) ESDM No. 62 K/12/MEM/2020 concerning Basic Price Formula in Calculation of Retail Sales Prices for General Types of Fuel Oil, Types of Gasoline, and Diesel Oil Channeled through Public Fuel Filling Stations.

It is Pertamina’s authority to adjust the price of these three types of non-subsidized fuel, taking into account the high world crude oil price, which is currently still above US$ 100 per barrel.

Specifically, in DKI Jakarta, for example, the price of Pertamax Turbo (RON 98) increased from Rp. 16,200 per liter to Rp. 17,900, while Dexlite increased from Rp. 15,000 per liter to Rp. 17,800 per liter. Then, Pertamina Dex increased from Rp 16,500 per liter to Rp 18,900 per liter.

The price increase is different in each region such as in Banten, West Java, Central Java, DI Yogyakarta, East Java, Bali, West Nusa Tenggara, and East Nusa Tenggara.

Meanwhile, the price for the Special Assignment Fuel Type (JBKP) or Pertalite throughout Indonesia is still the same, namely IDR 7,650 per liter. While the price of Pertamax is still below the economy or Rp 12,500 per liter according to each region.

Previously reported, Pertamax Turbo (RON 98) increased from Rp. 14,500 per liter to Rp. 16,200 per liter, while Dexlite increased from Rp. 12,950 per liter to Rp. 15,000 per liter.

Meanwhile, Pertamina Dex increased from Rp. 13,700 per liter to Rp. 16,500 for the DKI Jakarta, Banten, West Java, Central Java, DI Yogyakarta, East Java, Bali, West Nusa Tenggara and East Nusa Tenggara areas.
Furthermore, Pertamina also responded to the policy of several local governments (local governments) increasing the highest retail price (HET) of 3 kg LPG.

PT Pertamina Patra Niaga Corporate Secretary Irto Ginting said that the local government does have the right to regulate the price of 3 kg LPG. Nevertheless, Pertamina sees that now is not the right time to hoist the gas cylinder HET.

“That is the authority of the regional government following the ESDM Ministerial Regulation. However, we hope that there will be no price adjustment, considering that the price of 3 kg LPG determined by the government will not change,” he said, quoted Wednesday (3/8/2022).

The regional government’s authority to regulate the HET for 3 kg LPG is regulated in the Regulation of the Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) Number 26 of 2009, concerning the Provision and Distribution of Liquefied Petroleum Gas.

Article 24 paragraph (4) of the Ministerial Regulation states that the Provincial Government (Provincial Government) together with the Regency/City Government (Regency/City Government) have the right to determine the highest retail price of certain LPG for certain LPG users at the delivery point at certain LPG sub-distributors.

On a note, local governments need to pay attention to regional conditions, people’s purchasing power, reasonable margins, as well as facilities and facilities for the supply and distribution of LPG before increasing the price of gas cylinders.

Previously, information was circulating that the HET for 3 kg LPG in some areas had increased from Rp 16,000 to around Rp 19,000 per cylinder. The price increase, for example, applies in Cirebon, Indramayu, Majalengka, Kuningan, Bekasi Regency, and Bekasi City by the local government.

The reference price is far above the selling value that applies nationally, where the central government still maintains the price of 3 kg LPG according to the original HET, which is Rp 12,750 per cylinder.
