PLN Prepares 570 Units of Electric Vehicle Charging Stations

The State Electricity Company (PLN) has prepared 570 SPKLUs or Public Electric Vehicle Charging Stations during the 2023 New Year’s holiday reverse flow. These charging stations have been spread throughout Indonesia.

All SPKLUs for electric cars are spread across 240 locations in Indonesia. “On Java Island, PLN Sudan operates 9 SPKLUs in rest areas along the Trans Java Toll Road,” said the Main Director of PLN Darmawan Prasodjo, Monday (2/1).

Darmawan explained that the PLN SPKLU is spread from the Cikampek Toll Road to Kertosono, Madiun. On the Trans Java Toll Road, SPKLU is in the KM 519 rest area (Solo-Ngawi), KM 519 B rest area (Ngawi-Solo), KM 389 B rest area (Batang-Semarang), KM 379 A rest area (Semarang-Batang).

Public Electric Vehicle Charging Stations are also available in the KM 628 B toll road rest area (Kertosono, Madiun), KM 207 A rest area (Palikanci-Cirebon), 208 B rest area (Palikanci), KM 10.6 rest area Jagorawi Toll Road, and rest area KM 6 (Jakarta-Cikampek).

“Electric car users who need information about the nearest SPKLU can access information through the electric vehicle feature on the PLN Mobile application,” said PLN Managing Director Darmawan Prasodjo.

In order to expand the spread of SPKLU in Indonesia, Darmawan revealed, PLN is opening the widest possible cooperation opportunities with various parties because the number of electric vehicles in the country has begun to increase.

Furthermore, he continued, PLN has collaborated with electric vehicle manufacturers to provide home charging with a digital system. This home charging service provides discounts to customers who charge their electric vehicle batteries at night from 00.00 – 05.00.

Electric vehicle users who need information about the nearest SPKLU can be accessed via the electric vehicle feature on the PLN Mobile Application.
