The government through the Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment (Menko Marves) Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan ensured that four regions has leveled up to PPKM level 3. The four regions are Greater Jakarta, Special Region of Yogyakarta, Bali, and Greater Bandung.
He ensured that the increase in the PPKM level is not due to the high number of positive cases of Covid-19 or the Omicron variant that occurred, but due to the low tracing rate.
Luhut in a virtual press conference, Monday (7/2), explained, “Bali has also gone up to level 3, one of which is due to an increase in hospitalization. This is related to a decision that can be seen later with the Minister of Home Affairs’ instructions issued today.”
Furthermore, the government will make several adjustments related to this level three PPKM. This is because the distribution and characteristics of the Omicron variant are different from the delta variant. Some adjustments and policies will be made more focused, especially for the comorbid and unvaccinated elderly group.
PPKM policies that the government has taken continue to follow the adjusted assessment level, based on the coverage of inpatient capacity.
“Based on the data we have collected from various sources, this omicron causes much faster transmission, exceeding the transmission of the delta variant. He ensures that the government continues to update the data and asks for input from various experts in their fields.
He explained that some of the adjustments made, including for industries that have export and domestic orientation, can continue to operate 100% if they have an Operational and Industrial Activity Mobility Permit (IOMKI). Furthermore, at least 75% of employees have received dose 2 vaccination and are using PeduliLindung.
Regarding activities in shopping centers such as supermarkets, it can operate until 21.00 with a maximum of 60% visitors. Meanwhile, the people’s market can operate until 20.00 and a maximum of 60% of visitors.
Luhut said, “Malls are open until 21.00 and a maximum of 60% of visitors. For children less than 12 years old, a minimum of the first dose of vaccine and children’s playgrounds and entertainment areas can be opened a maximum of 35% and must [show] proof of dose vaccination for children under 12 years old.”
Furthermore, MSMEs such as small merchant and snack stalls can be opened until 21.00 with a maximum of 60% of visitors. Likewise, restaurants or cafes can be opened with a maximum of 60% visitors until 21.00.
“We are still open for cinemas with children under 12 years old being allowed to enter but they must have received the first dose,” he added.
Furthermore, places of worship are only allowed to use a maximum of 50% of their capacity. Public facilities are only allowed to be used with a maximum of 25% of capacity. And cultural arts activities can be carried out with a maximum capacity of 20%.
“And my friends, we will continue to see all of this week. If this week is good, next week will be looser. Because frankly, we don’t want fear and the economy to be disrupted. There is no problem,” he said. Luhut.
He advised the public to continue to adhere closely to the health protocols and not to disengage from the PeduliLindung application.
