The government is implementing a trial without quarantine and the application of Visa on Arrival (VoA) in Bali which took effect yesterday (7/3). If this trial is successful, the Government will consider implementing quarantine exemptions for all Overseas Travelers (PPLN) as of 1 April.
As previously known, the Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment as well as the Coordinator of PPKM Java Bali Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan said President Jokowi approved the trial of entering Bali without quarantine for Foreign Travel Actors (PPLN) since March 7, 2022.
Luhut reported Bali’s readiness to implement a trial without quarantine. Previously, the government planned to conduct a trial to enter Bali without quarantine starting March 14, 2022. “In today’s meeting, the President has agreed to be able to conduct a trial without quarantine for PPLN since March 7, 2022. I repeat, since March 7, 2022, in Bali Province,” he said at an online press conference regarding the results of the PPKM meeting in Jakarta, Monday.
If this trial is successful, the government will waive quarantine requirements for PPLNs who will enter all parts of Indonesia.
“If this trial is successful, then we will apply quarantine exemption for all PPLN on April 1, 2022, or sooner,” said Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment (Menko Marves) Luhut B. Panjaitan, quoted from his official statement, Monday (8/8). /3/2022).
This policy is influenced by the downward trend in daily confirmed cases that occurred in all provinces in Java and Bali. Hospitalization and death rates have decreased, although there are still areas such as Yogyakarta with increased hospitalization rates.
For Java-Bali, he said that many regencies or cities have re-entered PPKM Level 2. One of them is the agglomeration areas of Greater Jakarta and Greater Surabaya.
On the other hand, Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto added that the government is also preparing a PPLN travel policy outside Java – Bali.
“Here, I also want to convey that the travel bubble policy has also been prepared. Later, a visa on arrival will be applied for those who come to Batam – Bintan,” he said.
No Quarantine Rules in Bali
Several requirements must be complied with even though PPLNs can enter Bali without quarantine. The condition is that the PPLN who comes must show proof of a hotel booking that has been paid for at least four days or show proof of domicile in Bali for Indonesian citizens. The incoming PPLN must also have been fully vaccinated/boostered.
In addition, PPLN must perform an entry PCR test and wait in the hotel room until the negative test result comes out. After being negative, they can be free to do their activities while still following the health protocols. Then, PPLN again conducted a PCR test on the third day at their respective hotels.
“PPLN has or must still have health insurance that guarantees Covid-19 according to the provisions,” said Luhut.
Luhut also emphasized the tightening of health protocols and the use of PeduliLindung in various places during the trial. Likewise, the acceleration of booster vaccines in Bali is targeted to reach 30 percent in the next week.
“If this trial is successful, we will apply quarantine exemption for all PPLN on April 1, 2022, or sooner than April 1,” concluded Luhut.
