Red Zone Areas in DKI Jakarta Increase to 14 RT!

The spread of the Covid-19 virus and the Omicron variant in Indonesia is increasing. Therefore, the government finally imposed PPKM level III for several regions in Indonesia, one of them is DKI Jakarta. At the latest, there are 14 RTs in DKI Jakarta which are red zone areas for the spread of Covid-19.

DKI Jakarta Deputy Governor Ahmad Riza Patria confirmed that there are 14 neighborhood units (RT) that are included in the COVID-19 red zone. Meanwhile, 216 other RTs are in the orange zone category after the spike in COVID-19 cases in Jakarta.

Riza said, “Regarding the red zone, there are 14 RTs in the red zone, then 216 RTs in the orange zone, while the yellow zone has 5,490 RTs.”

As of the period 17-31 January 2022, according to him, there has been a 17.8 percent decrease in the Green Zone within the RT. Meanwhile, on the other hand, the Yellow Zone RT increased 15 times.

According to the data from the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government, on January 17, 2022, the number of RTs in the green zone stood at 30,106 RTs, that number decreased to 24,762 RTs on January 31. Then, the yellow zone RT in Jakarta for the period 31 January to 6 February there were 5,490 RTs. And as many as 216 RT are included in the orange zone category.

According to Riza, all parties must be more vigilant and careful with this increasing red zone. He reminded the public to continue implementing health protocols.

He said, “Now there are several RTs that have entered the red zone, even though there are only 14. We ask for the attention of all residents to be more careful and ensure that health protocols are implemented properly, obey discipline, and are responsible.”

Based on the details of the red zone distribution areas, the red zones are in 14 RTs, namely 2 RTs in Central Jakarta, 4 RTs in North Jakarta, 6 RTs in West Jakarta, and 2 RTs in South Jakarta.

An indicator of an area that is categorized as a red zone is if there are cases of Covid-19 that occur in more than five homes. In fact, in the last 2 weeks, there has been a significant reduction in the yellow zone.

Furthermore, the Jakarta Health Office as of Thursday (10/2) recorded the number of active cases in the capital city increasing by 5,620 cases. This means that the total active cases to date have reached 86,901 cases.

Then, the addition of daily cases in Jakarta today as many as 11,090 cases. With these additions, the cumulative number of positive cases in Jakarta reached 1,029,912 cases. Of these, 929,100 have recovered, and 13,911 have died.
