Semarang-Demak Toll Road Trial Gets Good Impressions

Semarang-Demak Toll Road Construction

The Semarang-Demak toll road is actually not finished yet, but access to the toll road has been opened to unravel congestion on the North Coast (Pantura) route. This trial has received a good impression from the public.

According to the people who tried the toll road, this alternative route is effective in reducing travel time.

One of the users of the Semarang-Demak toll road, Widodo, said that opening the toll road as an alternative route saves time. Usually, he passes through the pantura route and gets stuck in traffic due to repairs to the Wonokerto bridge.

Widodo, the driver for the Pati-Semarang travel service, admitted that he saved time by opening the toll road as an alternative route.

“If you want to go to Semarang, it’s a headache, traffic jams make you tired. If you passed here, it went smoothly and safely. Usually, it can take up to three hours more. If this can save one hour. The route is good, the quality of the road is safe, and the scenery is unique, so you can see the swamps,” he said.

Section II of the Semarang-Demak toll road (Sayung-Kadilangu, Demak) will open on Saturday (12/11/2022). The opening of the line is carried out on a scheduled basis.

In the morning (06.00-10.00) the route was opened from the direction of Demak to Semarang via the Kadilangu Toll exit. While in the afternoon from 15.00-18.00 the route was opened from the direction of Semarang to Demak via the Sayung Toll exit.

Public Relations of PT Pembangunan Perumahan (PT PP) Robby Sumarna said that the trial of the Semarang-Demak Toll Road section II (Kadilangu-Sayung) as an alternative route was inseparable from the directions of Ganjar Pranowo and PUPR Minister Basuki Hadimuljono.

“This is the request of the Governor and Minister,” he said, Monday (11/14/2022).

He added, the trial opening of the Semarang-Demak toll road as an alternative route will last until December 2, 2022.

As is well known, during a visit last week, Ganjar said that the 16.31-kilometer toll road section had left only details such as signs and ornaments at the exit. It is hoped that this route will be able to unravel the congestion on the northern coast road.

“This is the hope that the people in Sayung and its surroundings have been waiting for. The Semarang – Demak (Toll Road) is expected to be a route to unravel congestion, God willing, it will be useful,” he explained.
