Several Cinemas in Jakarta Are Starting to Reopen Today

The DKI Jakarta Provincial Government has issued a decree for the operation of cinemas in Jakarta. Several theaters will start showing films today.

“XXI, Cinepolis and CGV have issued their decree. Yes, the information said they will open this week,” said the Head of the Tourism Industry, Creative Economy and Tourism Service, Bambang Ismadi, Wednesday (21/10 / 2020).

However, Bambang did not know yet the exact time when the cinemas will operate.

“About today or tomorrow, ask directly to the cinemas’ officers,” he said.

Seeing from the cinemas’ official social media accounts, they will start operations in several locations in Jakarta. CGV will start operations at CGV Grand Indonesia, CGV Green Pramuka Mall, CGV Transmart Cempaka Putih and CGV AEON Mall JGC.

Meanwhile, Cinepolis which starts operating today are Cinepolis Plaza Semanggi, Cinepolis Pluit Village, Cinepolis Tamini Square, Cinepolis Gajah Mada and Cinepolis Cibubur Junction.

The cinemas have also conveyed the implementation of strict health protocols at the reopening of their cinemas, including the capacity that is 25 percent of the audience in the theater.

“Preparation for the implementation of the protocols that have been given certainly requires serious efforts from the entire Cinepolis cinemas team. To show their commitment in complying with these protocols, Cinepolis cinemas has implemented 71 service protocols to prevent the spread of Covid-19,” Cinepolis stated.

A number of films have been prepared. One of them is South Korea’s newest film, the sequel of Train to Busan: Peninsula.

In addition, the cinema also screened a number of old Hollywood and Indonesian films in their re-screening after six months of ceasing operations.
