The Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) has 24 major projects that must be completed. PUPR targets all infrastructure projects to be completed no later than a semester I/2024.

The Minister of Public Works and Public Housing said that the PUPR Ministry was mandated to build infrastructure to support the targets of the RPJMN, PSN, and other national directive policies.

These targets include 24 major projects, 249 areas in the RPJMN, and 124 PSN under the authority of the ministry.

He explained that infrastructure development in 2023-2024 will be focused on people’s infrastructure programs. This has been the message the government has emphasized during the remainder of President Joko Widodo’s reign.

“All PSN and non-PSN work must be completed in the first half of 2024, all of which are expected to have been completed and are also expected to be useful so that it becomes the guideline for the preparation of the 2024 program,” Basuki said at the 2022 Regional Infrastructure Development Coordination Meeting (Rakorbangwil), Monday ( 31/10/2022).

Basuki explained that with this reference, his party will be very selective in carrying out new projects throughout 2023-2024.

In Presidential Regulation No. 120/2022, Basuki said the president had given a special assignment to accelerate the completion of infrastructure development.

“However, it is only for infra that the president directly ordered during a working visit and a meeting chaired by the president, the development must be prioritized,” he explained.

As previously reported, The government still has “debt” that needs to be completed in the remaining two years of Jokowi’s presidency. Of the total 200 multi-sector projects and 12 strategic programs in national strategic projects targeted for completion in 2024, there are still 32 projects and three programs that have not been completed.

The remaining 32 projects are in the form of super hubs, toll road exits, and PTPN integration which is still in the preparation stage.

This was conveyed by the Deputy for Coordination of Regional Development and Spatial Planning of the Coordinating Ministry for the Economy, Wahyu Utomo at the Ekon Goes To Campus event at the Ten November Institute of Technology, Thursday (27/10/2022).

Wahyu explained the progress of PSN until September 2022. There are 32 projects and 3 programs (super hub, toll road exit, and PTPN integration) in the preparation stage. Then 11 projects are in the transaction stage, with the potential for financial closing.

As for 85 projects in the construction phase, 27 projects and 9 programs have partially operated, and 49 projects have been completed.

“Hopefully there will be no stalled projects. So what is critical at this time is the 32 development to upgrade to transactions,” explained Wahyu.
