Transjakarta Targets 95% Area Coverage by 2023

TransJakarta, a bus rapid transit system in Jakarta, will increase the area coverage by adding more fleets and service routes in 2023.

Director of PT Transport Jakarta (Transjakarta) Mochammad Yana Aditya, (2/11/2022), revealed, “In 2023 we will add new routes. Our target is to cover the entire Jakarta area to reach 95% from the currently 86%. We hope that 500 meters out of the house, there is direct access to public transportation services,”

Transjakarta passengers, he continued, are also targeted to continue to increase. After a severe fall due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

“Currently we have experienced an increase in passengers, it has reached 800 thousand people per day. By the end of this year, we are targeting 1 million passengers per day, and by 2023 it will increase to 1.5 million passengers per day. Before the pandemic, in 2020, we once reached 1 million passengers per day. Then the pandemic, continued to fall, even 100 thousand people per day, “said Yana.

According to Yana, one of the triggers for the increasing number of Transjakarta passengers is the increase in fuel prices.

“One of them is true. September-October there is a 10% increase in Transjakarta passengers. We can see that there is a contribution to the increase in fuel prices. We hope that more and more people will switch from private vehicles to public transportation. That way it can help ease congestion,” concluded Yana.

Furthermore, the integration will continue to be carried out with other public transportation modes. Starting with the Jakarta MRT, the Jakarta-Bandung high-speed train, to the Jabodebek LRT.

In addition, he said, also by activating feeder buses for the supporting areas of DKI Jakarta and the micro trans network (urban public transportation).

This, he said, was to improve services so that they could attract more oil and people switched to using public transportation.

Meanwhile, in addition to expanding its reach, the Transjakarta bus stop has also received attention. One of them is the revitalization of the Bundaran HI bus stop.

Head of DKI Jakarta One-Stop Integrated Service and Investment Service (DPMPTSP), Benny Aguscandra, confirmed that the revitalization of the TransJakarta Bus Stop at the Hotel Indonesia (HI) has obtained a permit. One of them is the building permit (IMB).

“I issued the permit, the IMB. The only problem is that I am based on the existing rules,” said Benny at Grand Cempaka, Bogor, West Java, Tuesday, November 1, 2022.

Benny assessed that the presence of this building will increase TransJakarta users. This is because mass transportation passengers can enjoy the beauty of the HI area.

“It’s a good location, yes, enjoy it. Not only building owners or those who can rent at HI but mass transit users are also given priority to be given a place so that they can enjoy the statue,” he explained.
