Bali is gearing up to host a significant international event, the World Water Forum 2024, once again welcoming distinguished guests to its shores. Set to take place from May 18th to 25th, 2024, this forum is anticipated to make a substantial economic impact, with projected revenues ranging from 35 to 50 million US dollars or approximately 561 billion to 800 billion Indonesian Rupiah.

Sandiaga Uno, Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy Forum, revealed this exciting development during a virtual press briefing held in Jakarta. He shared insights into the event, estimating an attendance of 35,000 to 50,000 participants from various parts of the world. Such a gathering is expected to provide a significant boost to local businesses and stimulate the regional economy.

“We believe that the World Water Forum in Bali can mark a historic moment for Indonesia and Bali, positioning them strategically in water management with indigenous wisdom,” remarked Sandiaga Uno.

Discussions are underway with the Ministry of Transportation to potentially increase flight frequencies during the World Water Forum.

“The coordination with the Ministry of Transportation aims to ensure adequate transportation facilities for participants, thus enhancing the overall experience,” Sandiaga Uno emphasized.

Scheduled to unfold in Nusa Dua, Badung Regency, Bali, the World Water Forum serves as a vital platform for global stakeholders in the water resources sector. It brings together government officials, policymakers, academics, and industry representatives to address pressing water-related challenges and foster sustainable solutions.

With six overarching sub-themes, including water resilience, disaster risk reduction, governance, and sustainable financing, the forum aims to catalyze concrete commitments towards improved water management worldwide.

The upcoming World Water 2024 Forum in Bali is poised to set new benchmarks in international collaboration and pave the way for a more sustainable future for water resources globally.
