The peak of Indonesia’s G20 Summit is drawing near. To that end, Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy Sandiaga Uno said his party had provided 23 hotels in the Jimbaran, Kuta, and Nusa Dua areas to welcome the arrival of the G20 Summit delegations who would arrive in Bali.
“A total of 23 hotels spread across Jimbaran, Nusa Dua, and Kuta are 100 percent ready (for G20 Summit delegations),” said Sandiaga Uno in the Weekly Brief with Sandi Uno at the Sapta Pesona Building, Central Jakarta, Monday, October 3, 2022, quoted from his written statement.
Sandiaga claimed that accommodation readiness ahead of the G20 Summit had also reached 95-100 percent. In addition, Kemenparekraf also regulates hotels in the three areas so that their occupancy reaches 80 to 100 percent.
“We hope not only hotel occupancy (increase) and fully booked. But also for people who want to vacation in Bali during the G20 to see and choose alternative lodging outside the Nusa Dua area such as in Kuta, Ubud, Sanur, Denpasar, Lovina, Buleleng, and East Bali,” said Sandiaga.
Regarding international flights, Sandiaga said that there were already 25 airlines that opened international flights to Bali. The latest, he said, was Evergreen Airways (EVA) which opened return flights from Taiwan to Denpasar and flies three days a week.
“I thank these airlines and let’s develop more and more flights so that our tourism can increase in quality and sustainably,” he said.
Then, he explained that the passport validity period had been extended from five years to 10 years. Aside from being a preparation for the G20 Summit, Sandiaga said that the extension of the passport validity period is expected to increase the amount of investment in Indonesia.
Meanwhile, 1,337 journalists have registered to cover the G20 Summit in Bali in November.
Minister of Communication and Information, Johnny G. Plate, during the Coordination Meeting for the Implementation of the G20 Summit in Bali, Wednesday, said, “As of September 30, 2022, at 08.00 WIB, there have been 1,337 journalists from 215 media outlets who have registered through the G20 website. media crew can be done on 10 to 15 November 2022 at the Courtyard Hotel,”
Visas for foreign journalists, following the reference agreed upon by the Directorate General of Immigration, Ministry of Law and Human Rights, use the B211A mechanism after obtaining recommendations from relevant ministries and institutions.
“The B211A visa is valid for those who will visit Indonesia for official government activities, tourism, social and cultural activities, sports, business and commercial activities, family visits, journalistic activities, or transit without requiring a guarantor as a sponsor,” said Minister Johnny.
The Ministry of Communication and Information has also prepared a media center for journalists covering the G20 Summit, located at the Bali International Convention Center (BICC), Westin Hotel, Nusa Dua.
