Check These Vehicles That Can Buy Pertalite Fuel!

pertamina

The government through Pertamina continues to finalize the exact criteria for vehicles that are allowed to use fuel oil (BBM) types of Subsidized Solar and Pertalite. This is done so that the two types of fuel distribution is right on target and does not burden the state budget. Then, What are the criteria?

According to the results of the Limited Coordination Meeting (Rakortas), the vehicles that are still allowed to purchase Pertalite and Subsidized Solar are cars with engine criteria below 1,500 cubic centimeters (cc), as well as motorcycles under 250 cc.

Later, the policy will take effect after the revision of Presidential Regulation (Perpres) No. 191 of 2014 concerning the Supply, Distribution, and Retail Selling Price of Fuel Oil (BBM) along with technical instructions for purchasing Pertalite is completed.

Pertamina President Director Nicke Widyawati explained that based on the results of a limited coordination meeting (Rakortas) with the Coordinating Minister for the Economy, restrictions on users of the Special Assignment Fuel Type (JBKP), namely Pertalite, were set specifically for several categories.

Among them are four wheels with black plates, namely with engine specifications of 1500 cc and below, and two wheels of 250 cc and below.

If the regulation applies, Nicke predicts that the volume of Pertalite will be reduced by 1.78 million Kiloliters (KL) to 26.71 million KL from the initial prognosis.

“The government will revise Perpres 191 regarding the criteria for vehicles that use fuel subsidies, if it is applied in limiting our assumptions, we will do it on August 1, if the regulations are out, this can reduce 26.71 million KL but it is still high compared to the prognosis,” Nicke said in the meeting. Hearing with Commission VI, Wednesday (6/7/2022).

Likewise for the distribution of JBT Solar type fuel, after the restrictions, it is projected that there will still be an over-quota of 1.44 million KL, namely at the level of 16.36 million KL. Therefore, this is the basis for Pertamina and the government to continue to make restrictions.

“Based on data from the Ministry of Finance, if we make a range for the welfare level of the community, 40% of the poor and vulnerable to the poor consume 20% of subsidized fuel, but the top 60 consume 80 percent of subsidized fuel,” he said.

Then what cars can still fill the Pertalite fuel, or more precisely, those with engine specifications of 1,500 cc and below.

According to data from the Association of Indonesian Automotive Industries (Gaikindo) wholesales, which is traced by category, cars with engine capacities below 1,500 cc are the most in demand.

Some of the models include Toyota Avanza, Daihatsu Xenia, Daihatsu Terios, Daihatsu Rocky, DFSK Golry i-Auto, Honda Brio, Honda HR-V, Honda Mobilio, Mitsubishi Xpander, Nissan Magnite, Suzuki Ertiga, Toyota Raize, Toyota Rush, and don’t miss the cars in the Low Cost Green Car (LCGC) segment like the Toyota Calya, Daihatsu Sigra, to the Agya-Ayla twins.

Head of the Downstream Oil and Gas Regulatory Agency (BPH Migas), Erika Retnowati, said that her party is currently working on the revision of Presidential Decree 191/2014.

He said the revised Presidential Regulation would include the latest technical regulations regarding the provisions of community groups who are entitled to use certain types of diesel fuel (JBT) and special types of fuel for special assignments (JBKP) for Pertalite. Where in the current regulation, Pertalite does not yet have a regulation, so with this revised Perpres the distribution will be more targeted.

“After the revision of the Presidential Regulation is issued, BPH Migas will issue a regulation controlling the purchase of subsidized diesel fuel and Pertalite which will technically regulate it in the field. For upper-class people who use luxury cars, certainly, they will not receive subsidized fuel, luxury cars belonging to wealthy people are definitely not worthy of subsidies,” said Erika.
