Government Credit Card

The government requires ministries and agencies to use government credit cards when transacting goods and services. What’s the point?

Minister of Finance Sri Mulyani Indrawati said that digital technology had drastically changed the transformation of state financial governance.

With the development of existing technology, he believes that the current state financial budget allocation system has been transformed through an application system.

Therefore, he asked ministries and institutions (K/L) to start using government credit cards.

“All ministries and institutions have started using government credit cards. This is in the framework of accommodating transactions in the banking ecosystem and government payments,” explained Sri Mulyani in her remarks at the 2022 Conference on Public Finance and Treasury, quoted Friday (16/12/2022).

As is known, the Government Credit Card was first launched by President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) on 29 August 2022 at Bank Indonesia’s Thamrin Building.

Government credit card is corporate credit cards issued by government credit issuing banks. The government credit card issuing bank is the same bank as the BP/BPP account opened, and the bank’s head office has collaborated with DJPb.

Government credit cards are used for spending on operational goods, as well as capital expenditures by government work units, be they ministries or agencies.

Meanwhile, the use of the card is carried out with a maximum spending value of IDR 200 million for one beneficiary, special payments can only be made for goods/service procurement transactions which are domestic products provided by MSMEs through e-catalogs or marketplaces based on government payment platforms. provided by the Ministry of Finance.
