Sanur’s newest landmark, ICON BALI Mall, has opened its doors today, promising to become the largest shopping center in Southeast Asia. The grand opening on Friday, June 7, 2024, marks a significant addition to Bali’s retail and tourism landscape, targeting both international tourists and local shoppers.

Located strategically in the bustling area of Sanur, ICON BALI features two main entrances – one from Jalan Danau Tamblingan and another offering direct access to the scenic Sanur Beach.

Denpasar Mayor, I Gusti Ngurah Jaya Negara, expressed high hopes for the mall’s impact on the local economy, particularly in providing job opportunities for the youth. “We hope the presence of this mall can absorb many young people from Denpasar to work here,” stated Jaya Negara during the inauguration ceremony in Denpasar.

The mayor also highlighted the potential economic boost the mall could bring. “Icon Mall, owned by a native of Sanur, is expected to employ thousands and house approximately 200 MSME groups,” he added.

ICON BALI Mall boasts a range of amenities designed to enhance the shopping experience. Visitors can enjoy beach access, community activity areas, a clinic, foreign exchange services, and a tourist information center. The parking facilities are extensive, accommodating 1,100 cars and 700 motorcycles, with additional parking for bicycles.

Not only does the mall offer hundreds of retail stores and dining options, but it also presents the ‘8 Wonders of ICON BALI’—unique attractions aimed at entertaining and drawing in visitors.

These include the Jaje Bali Floating Market, an Indoor Cultural Stage & Amphitheatre, an Immersive Vertical Forest with multimedia experiences, a Seamless Beachfront Experience with seaside restaurants and a beach club, a Beach Sunset Water & Laser Show, an Icon Beach Gallery, a Butterfly Park, and an Edible Garden.

A significant highlight of ICON BALI is the Cinema XXI, which features Bali’s first IMAX studio, adding a new dimension to the entertainment options available on the island.

Tri Christy Novia Tambunan, Chief Public Relations Officer of Icon Bali Mall, elaborated on the mall’s unique concept. “Inspired by the natural beauty of Bali, Icon Bali Mall combines elements such as terraced rice fields, tropical plants, frangipani flowers, and salak fruit,” she explained during the press conference at the mall.

“Icon Bali offers a seamless blend of shopping, dining, and beach recreation experiences, making it a unique destination for both locals and tourists,” Tri added.

The mall’s flagship tenants include Market City, Krisna Premium, Timezone, Marks and Spencer, Uniqlo, and Cinema XXI. These prominent brands are expected to draw a steady flow of visitors, enhancing the mall’s appeal as a top shopping destination.

Moreover, ICON BALI Mall emphasizes Bali’s rich cultural heritage and traditions. It aims to support and empower local MSME communities by showcasing their crafts and products, thus reinforcing the island’s unique identity.

With its grand opening, ICON BALI Mall is set to redefine the retail landscape in Bali, offering an unparalleled shopping experience that combines luxury, convenience, and cultural richness.
