In the Komodo Labuan Bajo Airport Expansion inauguration, West Manggarai Regency, East Nusa Tenggara (NTT), Thursday (21/7/2022), Jokowi revealed the “hidden power” possessed by Labuan Bajo. The national priority tourism is said to be the most special, how come?
“What is still lacking from Labuan Bajo?,” said Jokowi.
Jokowi said the government had made maximum efforts to fix the tourist area of Labuan Bajo, including the supporting infrastructure. Starting from road repairs to relocating ports to more strategic locations for tourists.
“Labuan Bajo is complete, the culture is there, the scenery is very good, and the beach is beautiful,” he explained.
Jokowi then revealed the hidden power of Labuan Bajo. In fact, not a single country in various parts of the world has the power that Labuan Bajo has.
According to Jokowi, the special secret power is, “In a world that doesn’t exist, it doesn’t exist anywhere else. Namely the Komodo dragons on the island of Komodo. We must use this power to prosper our people here,”
It is known, President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) today inaugurated the expansion of Komodo Labuan Bajo Airport in West Manggarai Regency, East Nusa Tenggara, Thursday (21/7/2022).
Speaking on the sidelines of the inauguration, Jokowi admitted that he was not satisfied with the expansion of the airport, which is the only gateway in Flores. The government ensures that it will continue to make improvements.
“We will continue to improve the facilities that are lacking. This is a Komodo airport, the terminal has been widened, is it still lacking? Widen again. The more full, the more expanded,” said Jokowi.
Minister of Transportation Budi Karya said the airport has a runway of 2,600 meters. With current conditions, Komodo Airport can only accept narrow-body aircraft.
“The Minister of Transportation said that the runway is still lacking if we add 100 meters, wide body [planes] can enter, yes, it must be completed by next year,” said Jokowi.
Jokowi emphasized that it is the most complete tourist destination in Indonesia. Various efforts have been made by the government to turn Labuan Bajo into a haven for both domestic and foreign tourists.
“It is complete, the culture is there, the scenery is very good, the beaches are beautiful and in a world that doesn’t exist, it doesn’t exist anywhere else, namely the Komodo dragon on the island of Komodo. Our strength is there, we must use it,” said Jokowi.
