The long-awaited Jakarta-Bandung High-Speed Train, which has been christened “Whoosh,” is set to receive its official inauguration on October 1, 2023. This significant event will be personally conducted by President Joko Widodo, underscoring the importance and anticipation surrounding this modern transportation marvel.

This confirmation comes directly from the Director-General of Railways at the Ministry of Transportation, Mr. Mohamad Risal Wasal. It’s important to note that the public is currently enjoying the opportunity to experience the Whoosh High-Speed Train for free, a privilege that will extend until September 30, 2023. For those who haven’t yet had a chance to hop aboard, KCIC (the company behind the high-speed train) has initiated the registration process for the second phase of the Whoosh High-Speed Train trial.

This second-phase registration opened its doors on September 24, 2023, enabling commuters to book their journeys from September 25 to 30. The registration for this operational trial of the Whoosh High-Speed Train, complete with complimentary fares, is exclusive to the official website, specifically at https://ayonaik.kcic.co.id/.

Given the tremendous enthusiasm from the public, KCIC is encouraging everyone to stay tuned to its communication channels for ongoing updates and vital information regarding the free trial registration of the Whoosh High-Speed Train.

The free trial initiative for the high-speed train, which includes passengers, is scheduled to run until September 30, 2023. However, it’s essential to note that the seating capacity is limited, with only 500 seats available for each journey of the Whoosh High-Speed Train.

Throughout this limited trial phase of the Whoosh High-Speed Train with passengers on board, KCIC has made provisions for four round-trip (RT) travel schedules every day, resulting in a total of eight Whoosh High-Speed Train journeys operating on a daily basis throughout the trial period, concluding on September 30, 2023.

Similar to the protocols observed during the initial trial phase, every passenger officially registered on the travel manifest for the second-phase trial is guaranteed insurance coverage, adhering to all pertinent regulations and standards.

Furthermore, KCIC is issuing a proactive call to the public, urging individuals to remain informed about the available travel schedules, which will be updated daily until September 30, 2023. To facilitate a smooth and efficient travel experience, prospective passengers are strongly advised to arrive at their departure station no later than one hour prior to their scheduled journey. This precaution will help mitigate queues and ensure that the verification of passenger data proceeds seamlessly.

For individuals planning to make their way to the Whoosh High-Speed Train Station at Halim, they have the option to access DI Panjaitan Road, which has been opened to the general public for this purpose. In addition, for residents residing in the Bandung area, KCIC has partnered with Damri (an Indonesian state-owned bus company) and Mall Summarecon to offer shuttle services, providing convenient transportation options for the public. These shuttle services operate from the Damri Soekarno Hatta Bandung Pool and the Mall Summarecon vicinity.

As an additional convenience for commuters, vehicles bound for Tegalluar Station can utilize the KM 149 toll exit in the direction of Cileunyi. This exit is operational from 07:00 to 17:00 WIB, further enhancing accessibility to the Whoosh High-Speed Train network.
