Aircraft Landing, Placement, and Storage Services (PJP4U), including aircraft parking, which is applicable at the Airport Operator Unit (UPBU), will now be free of charge. This was confirmed by the Ministry of Transportation through the Decree of the Director General of Civil Aviation No. 14/2022.

Plt. Director General of Civil Aviation Nur Isnin Istiartono said that with the enactment of this provision, air transportation business entities or airlines can enjoy a tariff of Rp. 0 for aircraft landing, placement, and storage services which only apply at UPBU.

“This zero rupiah PNBP tariff is given to airlines operating flight routes from and/or to airports managed by UPBU within the Directorate General of Air Transportation, except for pioneering air transportation,” he said in an official statement, Tuesday (2/8/2022).

Furthermore, the imposition of a zero rupiah tariff is given according to the operating hours of each airport.

Isnin believes that this is a form of the government to encourage economic growth by providing relief for one component of aircraft operating costs.

For the implementation of this policy to run according to the provisions, the Secretary General of Civil Aviation, Director of Airports, and Director of Air Transportation are responsible for supervising.

This policy is set on July 26, 2022, and is valid for 3 days from the date it was established until December 31, 2022, at 24:00 local time.

Previously reported, Aviation Business Observer Gatot Rahardjo said the increase in PSC (Passenger Service Charge) rates would burden the people. The reason is that ticket prices are currently increasing.

Gatot views that if you have to impose a tariff for passenger services at the airport, a special strategy is needed. Of course, looking at the current economic capacity.

“We need a strategy. If everyone increases tariffs, consumers will be burdened too badly,” he said, Saturday (16/7/2022).

He views that instead of imposing this new tariff if you really need funds, it is better to focus on airfares first. He asked the airport to focus on safety and security.

The future price adjustment, Gatot thinks needs to be preceded by good public communication. The goal is so that consumers are not surprised and reduced comfort.

For information, the Airport Operator Unit or UPBU is a unit of the Directorate General of Civil Aviation of the Ministry of Transportation whose task is to carry out aviation services and airport-related services, safety, security, and orderliness of flights at airports that have not been commercially operated.
