The honeymoon is one of the most anticipated moments for newlyweds. Choosing the right destination is essential to create lasting and meaningful memories. For couples who don’t want to make the wrong choice, Bali is worth considering, as it has been ranked the second-best honeymoon destination in the 2025 Traveler’s Choice Awards, just behind Mauritius.
“Bali is a living postcard, an Indonesian paradise that feels like a fantasy,” Tripadvisor wrote, as quoted by VNExpress.
The recognition comes as no surprise. Bali’s stunning landscapes, pristine beaches, and rich cultural heritage make it a dream destination for couples. The island has long been a top choice for honeymooners looking to combine relaxation with adventure.
The Traveler’s Choice Awards 2025 ranked destinations based on the quality and quantity of reviews submitted by travelers worldwide to Tripadvisor. The evaluation period ran from October 1, 2023, to September 30, 2024. These awards highlight not only the most highly rated locations but also those that have won the hearts of travelers across the globe.
Mauritius topped the list as the best honeymoon destination, followed by Bali, the Maldives, Hoi An, and Phuket.

Bali’s Head of Tourism Office, Tjok Bagus Pemayun, expressed pride and gratitude over the island’s continued popularity. “We are grateful and proud that Bali remains the second most popular honeymoon destination,” he told detikBali on Thursday (February 6, 2025).
He emphasized that Bali offers a wide range of experiences tailored to different preferences. “For those who enjoy cooler climates, Kintamani and Bedugul are ideal. Meanwhile, Chinese tourists who love beachside tranquility often choose Nusa Dua, Sanur, or Kuta,” he explained.
Bali has consistently received global recognition. Previously, the island was named the most beautiful island in Asia by the American magazine Condé Nast Traveler in the 2024 Readers’ Choice Awards.
After facing a drastic decline in tourism due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Bali is making a strong comeback. Last year, the island welcomed 6.3 million international visitors, exceeding pre-pandemic levels and reaffirming its status as one of the world’s top travel destinations.
