French President Emmanuel Macron tested positive for the Corona virus. Macron took a Corona test when he experienced the first symptoms of Corona.
As reported by the Associated Press and AFP, Thursday (17/12/2020), this was announced by the French presidential office, Elysee Palace, on Thursday (17/12) local time.
“The president tested positive for COVID-19 today (Thursday, 17/12),” the Elysee Palace said in a statement confirming Macron’s condition.
The Elysee Palace statement said Macron underwent a coronavirus test as soon as symptoms first appeared.
Government spokesman, Gabriel Attal, said Macron was experiencing cough-like symptoms. Besides that, Macron also looked exhausted.
“I got the news last night. He has noticeable symptoms, a cough and fatigue,” said Gabriel on Thursday.
The Elysee Palace only stated that Macron would undergo independent isolation for the next seven days.
“He will continue to work and carry out his activities remotely,” the Elysee Palace said in a statement.
