International Flight Passengers to NTB Up 48.11% But Domestic Passengers Drop

Foreign visits to West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) continue to increase. According to the Central Statistics Agency (BPS) data of NTB Province, airplane passengers coming to NTB via international flights increased by 48.11 percent.

Passenger ship transportation and loading and unloading activities at the seaport of NTB also experienced an increase.

Head of the NTB BPS Wahyudin in Mataram, Monday (3/10/2022) said that 5,646 passengers arrived via international flights in August 2022, Wahyudin said. The figure has increased by 48.11 percent when compared to July 2022.

Likewise, passengers departing via international flights in August 2022 were 4,289 people. The number has increased by 38.35 percent compared to July 2022.

He added that the condition of sea transportation in August 2022 also increased. In August 2022, goods unloaded and loaded by sea ports in NTB Province were 268.01 thousand tons and 95.81 thousand tons, respectively.

Meanwhile, passengers arriving and departing through seaports in NTB Province were 69.21 thousand people and 73.32 thousand people.

The number of passengers arriving via sea transportation in August 2022 increased by 9.24 percent compared to July 2022. Likewise, the number of departing passengers increased by 14.86 percent.

“The number of goods unloaded through seaports in August 2022 increased by 20.86 percent compared to the previous month. While the number of goods loaded decreased by 24.18 percent compared to July 2022,” he said.

The increase in the number of international passengers was inversely proportional to the number of arrivals of domestic passengers.

Wahyudin in Mataram, Monday (3/10/2022) said the number of passengers arriving via domestic flights in August 2022 in NTB was 83,260 people. The number decreased by 8.72 percent compared to July 2022.

Meanwhile, the number of passengers departing in August 2022 via domestic flights was 88,512 people. The figure is down by 3.38 percent compared to July 2022.
