Property Shares Rise Due to the Nation Capital’s New Name

The Government of the Republic of Indonesia has officially named the capital city of the Republic of Indonesia, namely Nusantara. Along with the inauguration of the name of the new capital city, several issuers of property trading shares opened in the green zone on Tuesday (18/1/22).

Based on RTI data, the shares are PT Ciputra Development Tbk (CTRA), PT Agung Podomoro Land Tbk (APLN) and PT Bumi Serpong Damai Tbk (BSDE). Previously, these three issuers had expressed their desire to develop a new IKN. They even have land there.

APLN has a flagship project, namely Borneo Bay in Balikpapan City. Based on company data, the project utilizes 5 hectares of reclaimed land.

The land behind The Plaza Balikpapan complex is used as a business superblock consisting of a lifestyle mall, five-star hotel, and two apartment towers (Borneo Bay Residences) with 1,100 apartment units.

Furthermore, CTRA shares opened up 1.08% at the level of Rp 930 per share. Furthermore, APLN shares rose 0.89% at Rp 112 and BSDE rose 0.51% at Rp 985 per share.

CTRA has more than 70 projects in more than 30 cities throughout Indonesia. Some of the company’s projects are three projects in Samarinda and one project in Balikpapan with a total landbank of nearly 400 ha.

BSDE also owns nearly 500 hectares of land in East Kalimantan, Balikpapan and Samarinda.
Even though these stocks rose, within a week they were still in the red zone. CTRA fell 1.60%, APLN fell 5.83%, and BSDE fell 2.99%.
