Stock News Today: IDX Closes Green, Foreign Net Buy Reaches IDR 2.39 Trillion!

The news from the Composite Stock Price Index (IDX) this weekend closed in the green zone with an increase of 0.87 percent or 59.92 points to 6,928.32.

Based on Bloomberg data, Friday (4/3/2022), the IDX moved in the range of 6,895.73 – 6,936.98 throughout the day. A total of 202 stocks rose, 345 stocks weakened and 134 stocks were stagnant at the end of trading.

Previously, Director of MNC Asset Management Edwin Sebayang estimated that today the IDX could move in the range of 6,821 – 6,917.

On the other hand, in trading this afternoon, foreign investors also recorded a jumbo net buying of Rp. 2.39 trillion across markets. Shares of PT Merdeka Copper Gold Tbk. (MDKA) became the most foreign bought up Rp. 316.1 billion. Then followed the shares of PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia Tbk. (BBRI) which was purchased by foreigners for IDR 293.4 billion.

Furthermore, the shares of PT Buana Lintas Lautan Tbk. (BULL) topped the top gainers today by strengthening 34.21 percent to the level of Rp. 153. Not long ago, the company announced a plan to increase capital without pre-emptive rights (PMTHMETD) aka private placement.

In this private placement, Buana Lintas Lautan will issue 685,122,633 series B shares with a nominal value of Rp. 100 per share. The private placement was approved at the Extraordinary General Meeting of Shareholders (EGMS) on October 15, 2020.

Currently, market players are still observing the developments of the Russian invasion of Ukraine which has entered its second week. On the other hand, the impact of the current economic sanctions is starting to hit the Russian economy.

Currently, Russian banking licenses using SWIFT International Payment are being frozen, as are assets owned by oligarchs (conglomerates) related to Putin, shares of Russian listed companies falling on the Global Exchange, and the exclusion of Russian issuers from the calculation of the Russel & MSCI Index.
