The excitement of the 2026 FIFA World Cup is reaching far beyond the stadiums, and even travelers passing through Bali can now be part of the action. I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport has launched free public watch parties, giving passengers, airport visitors, and local residents a chance to enjoy the tournament together in a lively and welcoming atmosphere.
The watch party program begins with the quarterfinal matches and will continue through the tournament final, scheduled for July 20, 2026. All screenings take place on the second floor of the airport’s International Terminal, where visitors can also enjoy complimentary snacks and hot beverages throughout the event.
According to Nugroho Jati, General Manager of I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport, the initiative was created to bring the excitement of the world’s biggest football tournament directly into one of Indonesia’s busiest travel hubs.
“We are organizing these watch parties to bring the excitement of the 2026 FIFA World Cup to I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport in Bali,” Nugroho said on Monday (July 13, 2026).
He added that the event is also intended to improve the overall customer experience at the airport while creating a more enjoyable environment for everyone passing through the terminal.
“We also hope to enhance the customer experience at the airport. In addition to passengers and airport users, we invite the general public to join us and enjoy the excitement of watching the matches together,” he said.
With travelers arriving from around the world, the airport expects the event to become a gathering place where football fans from different countries can cheer for their favorite national teams side by side.
“We hope everyone can enjoy these crucial knockout-stage matches together,” Nugroho said.

To ensure the event remains safe and comfortable, airport management has introduced several rules for all attendees. Visitors are expected to maintain order and show respect for fellow spectators throughout the screenings.
Security regulations also prohibit guests from bringing firearms, sharp weapons, flags mounted on wooden poles or other hard materials, as well as bringing or consuming alcoholic beverages within the viewing area.
The watch party venue has also been designated as a completely smoke-free zone, including a ban on electronic cigarettes. However, football fans are encouraged to wear team jerseys, football-themed clothing, and bring the national flags of participating countries to help create a festive atmosphere.
Nugroho hopes the event will showcase the airport as more than just a transportation hub. Instead, he envisions it as a public space where people can gather, connect, and enjoy major international events together.
“We hope these watch parties will make I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport an open, welcoming, and inclusive public space, while also serving as an alternative entertainment venue for the community and all airport users,” he said.
He also emphasized that every aspect of the program is being managed under the airport’s operational standards, with safety, security, customer service, and regulatory compliance remaining the highest priorities.
“As the airport operator, we will ensure that every aspect of the event prioritizes safety, security, service quality, and compliance with all applicable regulations,” he concluded.
