Bali once again proved its dominance in Asia’s luxury tourism scene. Travel and Leisure, the U.S.-based travel magazine, released its list of the 15 Best Resorts in Asia 2025, and Bali secured five spots among the top destinations.

The announcement, published Wednesday (July 30, 2025), highlighted Mandapa, a Ritz-Carlton Reserve, The Mulia, The Ritz-Carlton Bali, Four Seasons Resort Bali, and The St. Regis Bali Resort as part of the continent’s most celebrated properties.

The rest of the list features luxury retreats spread across the Philippines, the Maldives, India, and Vietnam. This ranking was based entirely on reader votes and reviews, reflecting first-hand experiences rather than editorial judgment. Travel and Leisure gathered more than 657,000 votes in 2025, covering around 8,700 properties including hotels and cruise ships.

Evaluation criteria considered several aspects: room facilities, location, service quality, and dining experience. Resorts in Southeast Asia dominated the top positions, particularly in Indonesia, the Philippines, and Vietnam, showing the region’s strong presence in high-end hospitality.

Guest impressions added color to the rankings. The Mulia in Bali received glowing reviews, with some guests even calling it “the best hotel in the world,” praising its outstanding service and the perfect blend of comfort and luxury. Mandapa, a Ritz-Carlton Reserve, was described as offering a heavenly stay, far removed from Bali’s crowded tourist areas.

Resorts in India earned admiration for their architecture and the rich Mughal-era atmosphere that guests felt throughout their stay. Meanwhile, Maldivian resorts gained high votes thanks to their exceptional spa treatments and fitness centers, highlighting a different but equally luxurious charm.
