Travelers planning to visit Bali in the coming days may need to prepare for changing weather, particularly in areas expected to receive moderate to heavy rain. The Denpasar Regional III Center for Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics (BBMKG) has issued an early warning covering October 28 to 31, identifying several regencies where rainfall could intensify.
According to the weather analysis by the Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) in Denpasar, the areas at risk will vary over the four-day period. From October 28 to 29, moderate to heavy rainfall is possible in Badung, Bangli, Gianyar, Karangasem, and Tabanan regencies. The forecast applies through 8:00 a.m. Central Indonesia Time (WITA) on October 29.
The areas facing similar conditions are expected to change on October 30 and 31. During this period, the warning covers Badung, Buleleng, Jembrana, Karangasem, and Tabanan regencies, with the forecast period extending through 8:00 a.m. WITA on October 31.
AA Putu Eka Putra Wirawan, a forecaster at BBMKG Regional III, urged residents and visitors to remain alert to the possibility of rainfall occurring unevenly across the island.
“Be alert to the potential for unevenly distributed moderate to heavy rain across Bali,” he said, as reported by Antara.
The warning is relevant to people traveling around Bali, as weather conditions may differ between destinations. BMKG’s Denpasar Regional III office has also published a forecast for several popular tourist areas for Thursday, October 29, 2026.

Most parts of Bali are expected to experience cloudy conditions from morning until night. However, the forecast indicates a chance of afternoon rain in Ubud, Kintamani, Besakih, Nusa Dua, Kuta, Tanah Lot, and Sanur. These destinations are expected to remain cloudy in the morning and evening. Bedugul is the exception to the afternoon rainfall forecast for the listed tourist areas.
Wind conditions are another factor to consider. On October 28 and 29, 2026, winds are generally forecast to blow from the east-southeast, reaching speeds of up to 35 kilometers per hour. Temperatures across the forecast area are expected to range between 20 and 33 degrees Celsius.
Conditions at sea also warrant attention. BMKG forecasts wave heights of up to three meters in waters south of Bali, while waves in northern Bali waters could reach 1.5 meters. The agency has separately urged the public to watch for the possibility of waves reaching two meters or higher in the southern part of the Bali Strait, the Badung Strait, the Lombok Strait, and waters south of Bali.
These forecasts are particularly relevant for people planning coastal activities or sea journeys around Bali and nearby waters. With rainfall expected in several regencies and potentially high waves in surrounding seas, checking the latest weather and marine forecasts before traveling can help visitors make better-informed plans.
The current warning comes ahead of the broader rainy season expected across the island. BMKG’s Bali Climatology Station previously forecast that the rainy season would spread across Bali starting in November 2026. Rainfall is expected to reach its seasonal peak in February 2027, with the rainy season likely to continue until April 2027.
The October warning therefore precedes a period when wet weather is expected to become more widespread. Although conditions will vary by location and date, the combination of possible heavy rainfall, strong winds, and elevated sea waves makes it important for residents and visitors to stay updated on official forecasts throughout their time in Bali.
