    Christmas and New Year’s holidays will begin soon!. However, we still should be aware that that Covid-19 is not completely gone. At least for now. Here are some children’s traditional games that can be done at home to reduce their screen-based entertainment

    Gobak Sodor

    This game will make children actively move. Invite all family members to play it in the yard. Divide the group into two with a minimum of two members per group. After that, draw lines that describe the strongholds of each group.

    Engklek

    Bola Bekel

    Playing bekel ball will train your child’s agility. Consequently, by playing this traditional game, the child’s hands must move quickly. First of all, you have to buy a bekel ball along with six bekel seeds. Mothers need to teach children how to play it.

    Arrange the seeds on the floor. After that bounce the ball to the floor slowly, take one seed, and catch the ball with one hand before falling. Bounce back the ball and then place the seeds that were picked up on the floor. Increase the level of complexity by increasing the number of seeds taken

    Congklak

    The traditional game of congklak is well known throughout Indonesia, even abroad.
    This traditional game can be played by two people using a board, which is called a congklak board.

    The board has 16 holes, consisting of 14 small holes facing each other and 2 large holes on both sides.

    Each of the 7 small holes on the player’s side is filled with 7 conglak seeds which are usually made of shells, seeds, marbles, or small stones.

    The end of the game is if the 7 holes belonging to one of the players are empty. The winner is determined by the number of seeds in the big hole. Player who has the more seeds is considered as the winner.
