Batam Harbour Bay International Port Is Now Equipped with Autogate

The Indonesian Immigration Agency has carried out the latest innovation at the Batam Harbour Bay International Port by providing an autogate system. Autogate is intended to facilitate the immigration check process for Indonesian citizens and foreigners crossing the border.

Head of the Class I Immigration Office Special for Batam Immigration Checkpoints, Subki Miuldi in Batam, Riau Islands, Monday (10/10), stated, “Of the five international ports in Batam that serve passengers in and out of and to Singapore, only Harbor Bay International Port is available. autogate facility,

Subki continued, that currently his party is checking and evaluating the reuse of the autogate in Harbor Bay.

“For the time being, it can be used by Indonesian citizens, either arriving or departing. In addition to Indonesian citizens, foreigners (foreign citizens) holding ITAS (limited stay permit) and Itap (permanent residence permit), can also take advantage of autogate, “he said.

Meanwhile, visa-free users for Singaporean citizens, said Subki, can also use it if they want to return to their country.

“In the future, when the evaluation period is over, we will add countries that can use autogate,” said Subki.

Indonesian Immigration has implemented immigration services using autogate facilities for Indonesian citizens who will leave and enter Indonesian territory through Soekarno Hatta Airport, Ngurah Rai Airport, and Citra Tritunas Seaport/Harbour Bay.

The immigration service in the form of an autogate facility is one form of innovation from Indonesian Immigration to accelerate immigration inspection services.

“Utilization of auto gates can break down passenger queues, so inspections are faster and people are more comfortable,” said Subki.

This is because the autogate is a supporting facility for prospective passengers who have an electronic passport and wish to conduct an immigration check at the port before departing.

For information, the Autogate System is a port facility that uses an automation system so that service users who will enter and leave the port area will be recorded automatically in the system without the need to queue.
