Tourism momentum in Bali keeps building, and the latest data points to a promising finish for 2025. The Bali Statistics Agency believes foreign tourist arrivals will surpass last year’s total, and the numbers rolling in month after month show why confidence is growing.
“Tourism conditions this year can be considered better than last year. The number of foreign tourist arrivals in Bali at the end of the year will definitely be higher than the previous year,” said Bali Statistics Agency Head Agus Gede Hendrayana Hermawan. His optimism reflects the steady climb in visitor numbers recorded throughout the year.
From January to October 2025, foreign tourist arrivals reached 5,892,722 visits. The increase sits at 10.99 percent compared with the same period in 2024. Agus Gede highlighted that the cumulative growth is strong, saying, “If we look at tourism compared with the previous year, the cumulative increase is quite significant, almost 11 percent.”
A projection from the agency suggests the total for 2025 may reach 7 million visits. Last year’s January–December count stood at 6,333,360 visits. Even if November and December do not exceed the same months in 2024, the overall tally for 2025 is still expected to be higher because those two months in 2024 contributed more than a million visits combined.

Rising momentum is not only seen in annual totals. October 2025 alone recorded 594,853 visits. This shows a 6.24 percent increase from October 2024. Australian tourists remained the largest group of direct arrivals with 147,581 visits. China followed with 42,431 visits, India with 41,130, France with 27,790, and South Korea with 32,187 visits.
Hotel performance reflects the same upward trend. Star-rated hotels recorded an occupancy rate of 64,57 percent in October 2025. This is 0.2 percentage points higher than the same month last year. Non-star hotels posted an occupancy rate of 43.95 percent, rising 0.01 percentage points from the previous year. Most of the traffic concentrated in Denpasar City and Badung Regency.
Everything suggests a strong closing chapter for Bali’s tourism in 2025, supported by consistent gains, strong October performance, and high demand from key international markets.
