The government is preparing and preventing the increasingly massive spread of Covid-19 in Indonesia. The accelerated spread due to Omicron has caused the government to take more careful precautionary measures against the pandemic.
Most recently, after officially opening nine international entrances, and cutting the quarantine time for Overseas Travelers (PPLN), this time the government is preparing integrated quarantine places and official quarantine places throughout the country.
Regarding the nine international entrances, the government detailed that for air routes, the government opened access to Soekarno Hatta Airport in Banten, Juanda Airport in East Java, and Sam Ratulangi Airport, North Sulawesi.
Meanwhile, for sea routes, the Ports of Batam and Tanjung Pinang in the Riau Islands, as well as the Port of Nunukan in North Kalimantan. As for the land route, the government opens access to the National Border Post (PLBN) at three points, namely the Aruk and Entikong PLBN in West Kalimantan, and the Motaain PLBN in East Nusa Tenggara.
The determination of the quarantine location is stated in the Decree (SK) of the Head of the Covid-19 Handling Task Force Number 4 of 2022 concerning Entry Points, Quarantine Places, and RT-PCR Obligations for Indonesian Citizens Traveling Overseas, signed February 1, 2022.
The Head of the Covid-19 Handling Task Force, Suharyanto stated, “This decision will come into effect on the date it was signed until December 31, 2022, with the stipulation that if in the future there are errors, corrections will be made accordingly.”
In addition, the government has also added two integrated quarantine places to six places. The Pulogebang Milling Flats and Daan Mogot Flats are new quarantine places for foreign travelers (PPLN) in DKI Jakarta.
This provision is regulated in the Decree of the Covid-19 Handling Task Force Number 4 of 2022 which was signed by the Head of the Covid-19 Handling Task Force Lt. Gen. Suharyanto on February 1, 2022.
PPLN staying in central isolation will be exempt from quarantine fees. The conditions are, that PPLN is Indonesian Migrant Workers (PMI) and students from abroad, government employees returning from official trips abroad, and Indonesian representatives at international events or festivals.
