The increase in ticket rates for Jakarta-Bali flights is not only experienced by conventional airlines but also by private jet rental entrepreneurs. These entrepreneurs complained about the high operating costs of the airline business. The increase in private jet tickets even reached Rp 321 million.

One of the private jet entrepreneurs, Director of PT Indojet Sarana Aviasi, Stefanus Gandi, said (17/7), “Regarding the increase in aviation fuel prices for private jet charter flights, there is a direct impact on the increase in charter costs.”

Not only the price of avtur, but the cost of servicing at the airport has also increased. This is related to the operation of private jet charter airlines that must be carried out at Soekarno Hatta Airport because Halim Perdanakusuma Airport has not yet operated commercially after the revitalization.

“The burden of ground handling costs has also increased as well as the VVIP lounge rental rate at Cengkareng Airport, which is higher than Halim Airport,” he said.

So that makes Indojet have to increase rental rates. For example, the trip to Jakarta-Bali which was previously pegged at US$ 19,500 or equivalent to Rp. 291 million (Rp. 14,971/US$) rose to Rp. US$ 21,450, equivalent to Rp. 321 million, or an increase of 10%.

“The accumulation of increases in several components, such as aviation fuel and rental expenses, has made charter rates increase between 10-15 percent from last year’s charter rates,” said Gandi.

Even though ticket prices have gone up insanely, Gandi said the demand for jet planes is still stable despite an increase in costs. Where there is still interest from subscriptions and new clients.

“Although there is an increase in costs, this tends to be stable, because the need for business trips and holiday seasons is still quite high,” he said.

It was previously known that the price of airplane tickets was observed to be still expensive, following the increase in the price of airplane fuel or avtur. The reason is that 40% of the cost of the flight is aviation fuel.

Where at this time the price of avtur rose almost to touch Rp. 20 thousand per liter for domestic flights, from the range of Rp. 11 thousand at the beginning of the year.

Citing data from One Solution Pertamina for the period 1-14 July 2022, the price of avtur at Soekarno Hatta is Rp. 18,431 per liter and I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport, Bali, Rp. 19,288 per liter.

Citing the Traveloka page on Tuesday (12/7/2022), the average ticket price for the Jakarta-Bali route is priced at IDR 1-1.5 million in July 2021.

For example, for the flight schedule on Wednesday (13/7/2022), Lion Air charges the cheapest direct flight ticket from Jakarta to Bali at Rp. 1.3 million, Air Asia, Super Air Jet at Rp. 1.4 million, and Pelita Air at Rp. 1.5 million.

Likewise for flights at the end of this month (31/7/2022) Lion Air sells flight tickets for Rp. 955 thousand, Air Asia, Super Air Jet Rp. 1 million, Pelita Air Rp. 1.1 million, Citilink Rp. 1.5 million.

This price is not much different from last month’s price. Where ticket prices are still around one million rupiahs.
