Land Acquisition for the New Capital Has Started

The new capital construction in the East Kalimantan region continues. The East Kalimantan Provincial Government, which is part of the land acquisition preparation team for the National Capital City (IKN), has begun land acquisition.

Land acquisition was carried out in the Sepaku sub-district, Penajam Paser Regency.

This can be seen in the letter of notification of the land acquisition plan for the IKN construction phase I in the Sepaku sub-district, North Penajam Paser Regency, East Kalimantan Province, with the number 590/102/SEK-TP2T/Kaltim.

The letter was issued on November 8, signed by the Head of the Preparation Team, Secretary Siti Sugiyanti.

The land area needed for the IKN construction in North Penajam Paser is 348.09 hectares which are located in Bukit Raya Village about 0.01 hectares, and Bumi Harapan Village 348.07 hectares.

Currently, the land that is being prepared for the construction of the IKN reaches 921 hectares for the zone IA area of ​​the total IKN area of ​​6,671 hectares. Later, the excess investors will be offered to other areas adjacent to the Central Government Core Area.

Later the planning stage will be prepared by the Secretariat General of the Ministry of PUPR, the preparation stage by the Governor, and implementation by the Regional Office of the National Land Agency of East Kalimantan Province, which will be submitted by the Regional Office of the East Kalimantan National Land Agency.

The estimated timeframe for the implementation of land acquisition is November-December 2022, while the stages of implementing the IKN development will start in January 2023-January 2024.

In the letter, the Land Procurement Team emphasized that land owners are only allowed to relinquish their rights to the Secretariat General of the Ministry of PUPR. In addition, there will be a public consultation process for people who object to relinquishing their rights, until an objection review team is formed.

Previously, the Head of the IKN Authority, Bambang Susantono, explained that in 2023, a large-scale physical development for IKN would be carried out, from a tender contract at the Ministry of PUPR that had been signed.

“The palace starts next year, there are already several packages that have been tendered, if I’m not mistaken 72 packages, check again. It means 2023 go,” said Bambang to reporters in Jakarta, (18/10/2022).
